I know how easy it is to slip into those dark thoughts when nothing seems to be working.
I'm glad you know deep inside that those dark thoughts are not really true -- just a reflection of being frustrated and afraid. I suspect that your strong powerful statement of intent is going to make a positive difference.

As a business owner who, while very good at numbers, hates crunching the numbers, I need to implement some better systems even after being in business more than five years. Half the time I have checks sitting around from my clients that may have been sitting around for a few months before I get to depositing them in the bank and the other half of the time I am not checking my bank account to see what my balance is.

An ideal situation would be doing what you love and getting paid for it, and that requires perseverance. If you focus too much on the numbers or results you just put pressure on yourself. My hobby is playing online games for example, as there are so many free game downloads places, and that's obviously not a business, but I think down the line I may benefit from it as I started to have some ideas. I think we are the ones who make the difference.

I am starting a online buisness based on wigs. do i need a tax id nmber and ein number if i am only a online buisness? do i get it anyway because its good to have?

right now i am the sole buisness owner but later on i may add employees. do i consider my self a sole proprieter or corporation?

last which website is best to buy a domain name? GoDaddy.com , Corecommerce.com, Volusion.com or legal zoom?

last where can i walk in to receive my tax id and where can i get my buisness license?

I agree, i think sales professionals make their money by selling, and the copy shouldn't matter as much. the product can sell itself sometimes, but salespeople that are good at their job shouldn't need that to be the case.

The ability to sell is a natural gift some blessed people have. You can coach as much as you want, but for some blessed ones, it's an easy thing to do. This sort of people will never get down, no matter how many turn downs they receive, they just keep going at it! That you can't coach!

You can use all of you empowerment and motivation that has stemmed from the fall to fire up your will power to succeed.

This is *huge* for me, I'm finding that by always having a back-up plan I was not able to do what made me uncomfortable & really commit to do *whatever* it takes.

Course now, with changes in my life, I don't have a backup plan. Changes everything.

There is no such thing as a "self-publishing company." Just as no one can eat lunch for you or take a bath for you, no person or company can _self_ publish _for_ you.

You and Levine are hurting writers by giving legitimacy to vanity presses that call themselves self-publishing companies.

People who use these companies generally wait longer for publication, pay more, make less, and have worse books than if they were _real_ self-publishers.

This is *such* an important concept, and an excellent article by Baeth!!

So many "overnight" successes are really people who have been in business for 4-7 years, and then they hit it "overnight" -- amazingly, it seems to be around when they hit that 10K hours mark.

I know for me, magical things have been happening recently ... and I started my business 6 years ago.

Jamie - whether you apply for a TIN has nothing to do whether you have to file a different kind of tax return. Whether you file is all about how much income you make (as an employee or a business owner, or whatever). There's no down side to getting a tax id number! :)
